The ActiveFX laser is a gentle way to achieve healthy, rejuvenated skin. During the treatment, a high-energy beam of laser light interacts with the skin’s surface, causing the upper layer to peel off and regenerate a layer of new, undamaged skin. It’s associated with an extremely quick recovery period, because of the way the procedure is administered. The beam is applied in a fractional pattern, leaving small bridges of healthy, untouched tissue. To begin your ActiveFX procedure, we will first apply a local anesthetic to ensure your comfort throughout the entire treatment. From there, you will be given protective eyewear to guard your eyes from the light of the laser. We will then apply the ActiveFX laser to the treatment area, removing damaged skin cells and promoting the growth of new collagen beneath the surface. You can expect the entire procedure to last approximately twenty minutes, though the exact length will depend on the size of the area being treated.
A primary reason why the ActiveFX laser is so popular is because it’s associated with a very minimal recovery period. Immediately after the procedure, it’s normal to experience some discomfort, and the treatment area will likely appear dry and pink.
